Incredible India

I don't have time to really get in to it now. I'm still in India, recovering from the race.

Here is the short of it.

I won

Corrupt organizers

Beauracratic weasels

Media explosions

Good thing the Corrupt organizers didn't think you cheated. Did you see Slumdog Millionare? That could have been you. It would have been terrible, but it would have made a great film which ended with you and all your friends doing a whacky choreographed dance routine.

i had to bite my tongue a few times (and fingers) when i spoke with you (or read your prelim info) on this event. After spending about 5 weeks there on 2 separate occasions in the 90s, then working with "them" offshore the art of smiling at your face, …….may have originated from this region. I didn’t want to rain on the parade. Quite a country.

Damn shame about the corruption... hope you at least got to take in some amazing scenery and trails, at least as much as you can take in scenery when your racing...

didn't you see slumdog millionaire. a little relative to the situation.

First time we have read your blog and it was wonderful. How exciting. I'm glad you got out of India (you did, didn't you?)

So happy that you made it to Mendo. It was wonderful to have all "my kids" there. I know it meant a lot to Eli to have his 3 oldest friends there with him.

Your photos are incredible.

India is corrupt - talk to any Indian; I've mostly know Brahmins and any honest one will tell you.

Smart people and they can back it up but sometimes they make up Fake Universities and transcripts to get into American Universities.

that photo is ghetto. cash money millionaires!I think they would have taken you more seriously if you had trimmed your stache into a hitler stache. congrats on the win, I highly doubt the corruption of the india race is any worse then the corruption of the Kenda/ Sho-Air USCUP., capitolist bastards.

Crazy, good job with the racing tho, it doesn't take away from the win. Weird that there was another Harlan there. Did you meet this Harlan Pryce?

hi i am shital pradhan from Sikkim....first of all greetings from Sikkim n many many congratulation for your win.

I felt sorry about the management of the event in our Sikkim. It is not that it usually happens but without asking any layman excuses, i from the beautiful state of Sikkim and from the people of Sikkim would like to say Sorry for all that happened. I am sure this sorry won't wipe the experiences you people had out here...but still it is to make you feel that you are always welcomed in this part of world..anytime in days to come.

Well done Harlan; I sent the news reports to my mum. More Odyssey than bike race I suppose?
